So, ive been playing this game a bit for about a week now, and thought id make a thread to tell a little about it, and maybe see if anyone else has had a go.
Rift is a new MMORPG, which in all honesty, looks very similar to WoW in a lot of aspects.
Features it does have over WoW though, is a more intricate class system. There are 4 base classes, and 9 "souls" (talent tree's) for each class. You get to choose 3 souls for your character, and in that choice of 9 is alot of variety.
There are also open events, called Rifts, which are the key feature of the game (hence the name, lol) Basiclly, as you are out questing and whatnot, various "tears" can appear on the map, and using an ability you open them. They become a rift, and anyone in the area can join a public group and join in with the event, which is comprised of killing a certain amount of spawns within a certain time, to get to the next stage. The more work you do to close a rift, the more rewards you get at the end of it.
Lastly, there are invasions. Basiclly, lots of elite enemy packs will spawn in that zone, and 18 rifts will open. Everyone in the zone must fight off the invasion, as the invading forces kill all your NPC's, and dead npc's = no questing.
Personally, ive been having a great time playing this game, and will probablly write a full review shortly
