Rule reading.

It appears that there are a lot of warnings/bans that can be easily avoided.
With this in mind, I am suggesting that after account activation that there is a 30-60 timer that wont let you change the page until the timer goes out, and the user accepts this.
What this timer does is it forces the user to read the rules, unless they choose to switch tabs or do other things, which would be their fault for getting in trouble if they do so.
I think people don't fully understand the rules of this forum because not ALL forums are alike, and there are different rules, which I find acceptable at times.

I support this even though the majority of people that join will not read the rules. I read these rules already and I do to many forums to ensure I don't get into any trouble.

I'm sure that some people would in fact wait, and not read.
But it's the outcome that really matters, less rule breakers of all rules.
Sure it won't eradicate the rule breakers but I feel like it would/could reduce it.

I've been on a lot of sites that have this forcing of reading the rules, but I know it does absolutely nothing on me, at least. I just wait it out by doing something else.

There aren't that many people that really care about reading some rules.

Even though this is a good idea, I don't think it would help much.

Most rules are similar from forum - forum, as well, most rules are just common sense. Obviously there are the few rules that differ from each forum, but you should be able to pick up on them fairly quickly.

If you lack common sense then I believe you deserve the warning/ban.

You will get only people who want to join the forum badly because of the 30/60 seconds wait but it could be people want to join the forum badly but CBA waiting 60 min.
i wouldnt be bothered to waith 60min either and i wont be planning if i was forced to read something i wouldnt read it i would just fake it like some people already said.
But yea blackhatters and other people like spammers CBA to wait either so thats a + point so im 50/50 but although i support it

I don't agree with this statement really... well, at least the way you worded it.

"Blackhats" already are joining with intention to infect, scam, or whatever else they may have in mind. So reading the rules will not change the outcome of what they are planning.

Now, if you meant people like me. I make my RSGP with blackhat methods, but do not discuss/share it here. I know this because I already knew it was against the rules and yes, this may help put a stop to them sharing here.

So, if TE can find time to implement this, it would honestly due no harm, but this isn't something that needs to be rushed.

I deffinitly support this, I just made this account.. and to be completely honest, I didn't take a single look at the rules, if a timer was set in place I'm sure there would be a lot more likelihood of my actually reading the rules.

I support this,no matter if it doesn't help alot I think it increases the amount of people reading the Rules by a few percent. Which is always better than nothing.
