Runescape - Watch out for this!

I got an email like this...

The url was actually hyperlinked to www.secure.[runescape spelled in the wrong way].com

This is a phish and don't even click on it. Report it as spam and then filter it.
Jagex never sends you emails, unless it's for account email conformation and account recovery email conformation.
Don't click on these links that emails give you.

LOL, thats a fake, i know a guy who has a @jagex.com email too. but remember jagex's number 1 rule, they will NEVER ask for your username/password.

They never asked for their email or password, just to login and 'verify' the account.

Thanks for bringing up the awareness on the forums to others.

The thing is, most of them go to your spam folder. I have one in my webserver that I use for teh lulz. Still goes to inbox!

The link in the picture is "legit" so to speak.
The email looked like this...
www.google.com

So, it's meant to look like you're clicking to go to google.com but it's actually yahoo.com you are going to.. So, the link there is "safe". As in, it is not fake. I don't think it exists though, but it'll lead to runescape forums.

I got an e-mail just like it that said my account had been disabled for RWT, but I always check hyperlinks because I'm cool and the hyperlink was like (supercoollinkthatwillstealyourpassworddontclickitunlessyourlifedependsonitonsecondthoughtdontdoitevenifso)

Excellent Job on finding the phish. Thanks for the heads up. In most cases, the best way to tell if it's a secure login page is to look for the lock identifying that is has encryption methods to prevent phishers and so forth.

You can find and then sort out peoples usernames using google.. If you know what to search for.
