At the IFA trade show in Berlin, Samsung today announced a new Android tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7.
The Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) device sports a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED WXGA display, a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, 16/32/64 GB of storage memory (further expandable via a microSD memory card slot), as well as 3-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras.
On the connectivity front, it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and HSPA+. GPS is also onboard, as is a 5,100 mAh battery, and Samsung managed to squeeze all that into a 0.74 pound, 7.89 mm thin case.
A wide range of multimedia applications is supported: you can watch HD video clips in all their 1080p glory, and the device can also be turned into a universal remote control, allowing users to control their TV set, DVD/Blu-ray player, set top box and the like.
The exact price and availability date are unknown at this point.
