"Say Thanks" to unlock post

Because so many leechers go into the dump section, never say thanks and just run. With a thanks button, we can at least keep track of which users are doing it and make post counts higher so that they can't sit there.

I think this has been suggested before but I can't remember the outcome so I'm trying again.
 
I support this. It's good thinking and when they say "thanks" you'll know who got it and you'll know you helped that certain person out! :)

Chewy is like the opposite of a hidden admin, he's got the userbar but no real power aside from banning spam bots.
 
Simply change this:
Users who like this post: Kevin, slack3r

To this:
Users who thanked this post: Kevin, slack3r

And the "like" button with "thanks".

It would be somewhat good but, if staff are also going to add the "this user has been thanked X times in X posts" (like other forums). It will be just like rep.
 
Treb, post count allows newbies to spam shit then just sit in the dump section. We still don't know who's getting the dumps or if people still have a chance to try and get the account.

Reaper, think of it like the "Like" button. It would show up like a 'like'

Even better idea SD8Z. Just make a "Like to unlock" option when creating a new thread so no extra button. Because the like system was cusom made (I think), it would probably also need to be custom made.

I agree, we should also add like a 100+ post count requirement to see the dumps section
 
+1, I support this as well. Although I don't have 100 posts yet I still support relapse' idea too.

Thanks + postcount would be a good combination if you'd ask me. Too bad some dumpers never know where their accounts will go :smug:
 
Really its not about the forum its about whether people are decent to say thanks in your thread if you have benefit them.

I think you should make it so you have to signup to view the forum, i bet many register here for dump threads
