Bought them for a friend, turns out he already had xbox live.

I am not sure about it. I've never sold xbox live and bought it from an US company so yeah.
 
@climax i had an xbox account With an Australian region and bought an xbox live code from gamestop and it worked. Only Microsoft currency is region locked

Ah, thanks for the info, my bad.
 
This is quite a nice and quick deal with @Sons Of Anarchy but the codes he sent me gave me this message instead of "already used" if it was.

"Try the code again
We couldn't find the code you entered. Check the code and then try entering it again."

I hope he just sent me the wrong codes, until we resolved it via PM I might be another scam victim.... AGAIN!??
