I think it's bad to sell it, gifts are a way to show that you like the person.
You don't sell it.

What about giving a gift to another person? Last Christmas I received a $10 LoL giftcard from a cousin who wanted to get me into the game. My computer simply just can't run LoL, and at the time my girlfriend was into the game, so I just gave the giftcard to her. Would you consider that to be in bad spirit? If not, when exactly does it become acceptable to giveaway, or sell, a gift?

It is only bad when you turn somebody's thought and care into your own self-greed by selling the gift for money. It is good if you give a gift to another person because you are still sincere and respectful to the original giver.

Yeah, I personally wouldn't turn down a gift, but some family members say if you don't like it, we have the receipt to take it back, but I feel that's rude.

I do it if it's something I've already got, otherwise I keep it or give to one of my siblings.
