Mew is simple to get on Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and possibly Crystal.

I got Mew on Red, Blue, Gold and Silver. I'm assuming Yellow and Crystal it would be just as easy. This is without any cheats or anything like that as well .

The only legit way to get mew is to go to faraway island in emerald.

I've been playing Pokemon since 96', I think I would know.

I remember back in the day, I had around 12+ mews and I sold them all in my elementary school for 50$ each.

Too bad the first Pokemon games were release in 1998...

They were first released in Japan in 1996 as Red and Green,

he might have lived in japan :3

One does not simply play a game in Japanese at the age of 3-4

If they didn't start making them for the US until 1998, then I have no reason to believe why any version before that would not be in japanese.
