Yeah our VPS has been spacking out recently, and we don't really know why. I presume it can't handle MF anymore, and from that we've been recommended to upgrade to a different one.

VS3 is what we're looking to upgrade to, which will support MF comfortably but will be a much bigger monthly price ($45). So we're planning on getting a healthy fund before we upgrade, it shouldn't be too long. We would rather have money left for upgrades on the site as well, instead of blowing it all on hosting.

So yeah, sorry about the slow site.

Why you use managed VPS I used unmanaged, do quite fine with it. We have our own protection software and more installed on it for security and attacks, I mean me and my buisness partner manage it (well she does most of the work) but we have it set to do backups of databases sent to us both by email nightly, and vps itself backups done weekly to another cloud storage host.

It works pretty good for me, but I have A+ internet and a great computer lol. Most websites load up instantly (not literally, but very fast) for me.

Also, Crayo, why don't you choose to host on something like hostgator? Will it be even slower, PM me.

I have notice a slight slower load times though, I didn't see the downtime but it has been loading a tad slower. My guess is lack of either memory or bandwidth pipe. You using gzip compression? MyBB supports it by default?

We were on HostGator before Steel, and their max connections are far too low for Market Forums standards. I'd prefer a managed VPS @ hack13.

The site speed has increased a bit recently, but we still get the odd moments of slowness and downtime.

That's just a slow load. Either loading from the Host or from the image hosting.
