Should ALL Drugs be Legalized?

Okay so first off by Drugs I mean recreational as well as hardcore drugs such as Heroin, Meth, and stuff like that. Personally I believe all drugs should be legalized. I believe this for many reasons but my main reason is that it's your body and you should be able to do what you want with it, such as eat what ever you want and take what ever you want. I don't think your government should have any say in the matter. If you have any opinions on this please don't hesitate to post!

I think that drugs that can affect the way you treat others or drugs that can kill you. (Heroin, cocaine, etc.) should be illegal, but recreational drugs like weed should be 110% legal.

I agree with @Rude, I definitely think that drugs that can affect your mood negatively or can kill you should be illegal as you're only doing harm to yourself or to others around you. Sure, I understand the whole "It's my body I can do what I want to it" argument, but you're basically just killing yourself. Also, is that really such a good idea with the youth? You'll have teenagers shooting heroin into themselves in public.. That's not exactly something that we could benefit from.

Weed should be legal because it's not killing you or doing anything bad, the worst thing that'll happen is that you'll eat through a taco bell and lay on the couch.

I'm for the legalization of all drugs. The government could regulate them and in the process boost our economy significantly and make many legal jobs. Consequentially, criminal organizations and gangs will cease in size due to funds and the crime rate will drop drastically.

However, before anyone begins to suggestion this is an awful suggestion because everyone will begin to do drugs. People do not do drugs because they are illegal or hard to find (which they are not). They do not do them because they are aware they're adverse and dreadful for you. Essentially no one's going to begin doing drugs because they're legal now.

Is that true though? Look at Amsterdam for example which legalized Heoin and other Hardcore drugs. Not only do they get a TON of Tourists which helps the economy but you don't hear about deaths and stuff like that. People just need to be responsible. Personally I think if we legalized all drugs nothing would change. People who probably use Heroin or Meth wouldn't be able to afford the drug anymore (Due to Taxes and what not) so they would probably start with a recreational drug. But I do believe that crime rate would go down.

Alcoholics can afford their alcohol, despite the taxes. I fail to see why this wouldn't reflect with drug users and drugs.

Well honestly you can get alcohol extremely cheap. Heroin you can't. It is pretty expensive. Also for example look at weed. Out in Colorado the taxes are ridiculous.

MDMA was once legalized for patients who were seeing doctors such as therapists and psychiatrists. I think it should be re-legalized.

You're not basing the prices off the hypothetical; that all drugs are legalized. You're basing them on modern prices, where they're mostly illegal and a scarcity where they are legal due to demand and quantity fluctuations.

@ your first paragraph I agree completely. But the first step of the process is educating people properly and honestly. This must be done before we unleash these beasts we refer to as drugs.

Why? because these are just drugs people have fun with. They can take them to a party and have a good time or they can chill in their room and trip fucking balls while licking a while and calling their penis sally. unlike Heroin where you're going to ruin your life and end up dead in a ditch.

But don't you think it should be somebody's choice if they want to take heroin? Who are you to tell them what they can and can't put in there body?
