Should cell phone providers be allowed to give parents access to their teens' text messages?
I feel that When they know you are getting information from their phone they will not be themselves. Nobody wants to live with the knowledge that they are being watched. This might cause the I don’t care attitude instead of its ok my friends can call me anytime because its innocent socializing. They need to feel they have been given a responsibility to conduct their lives without mom or dad’s supervision all the time. They need to know that you care and have faith in them as young as they are. It is fun in itself to be given the opportunity to make responsible decisions as to what you get yourself in to without your parents watching. They know what you have taught them despite the mistakes they make as they grow up and they might want to return the favour and do what is good to show you respect and gratitude.

i support your view.this is the age when you get to learn to be responsible and parents should also let them a bit free to get a better knowledge and understanding of the outer world otherwise they might not learn that ever.parents can keep an eye on their growing kids without letting them know that they are actually been watched.

I also agree with you! This is one way to show to their kids that they trust them.so if kids think that they can be trusted,kids wont do any stupid thing that can destroy the trust that was given by their parents. I think it is much better to nOT give him cellphone,if you will just check everything on his phone.

I think it is not right because it is invasion of privacy. You have to think that the teenage years are the most problematic to a parents life because in these years teens learn how to rebel and do almost anything they want without regards to their parents feelings. Of course not all teens are like that but I have a teenager once so I know how it felt during those years. Plus teens will gain respect if their parents trust them that they are mature enough to take responsibility with their actions and need not have these cell phone providers gain access to their teens all the time.

I think nobody wants to get spy if he/she is texting he/shi's girlfriend/boyfriend. I wouldn't want to get spyied and like the others says give an trust.
