It's quite decent, for the price, performance should be enough to fit your needs.
i5 Core & 8GB RAM would be more desirable.
With that said, I may be wrong.

If you haven't already, most definitely read reviews on it.

If you ever decide to build your own, I highly recommend doing so.
As you can change it to your needs, swap components, save money, and update parts when technology changes.

Either way, best of luck buying a computer.
Hope I could help a bit @mfdoom . :)

alien ware you are just paying for the brand. You could get something with a i5/i7 and 8GB ram+ for that amount. Keep looking.

AW is super overrated, but I guess that's decent lol?

Go look on NewEgg, you could find something way better for that budget on there, even on amazon tbh.

With amazon you could even get it refunded, so it's pretty much free.

Goodluck man.

What he said ^. You can build a computer that's cheaper than the prebuilt AW.

People still show interest in Alienware? Isn't it common sense by now that Alienware is practically overpriced trash? Build your own dude, learn a little. Don't be afraid to do a little work.

I was looking into it, but I need a new computer asap, and I feel as if I would fuck it up.

OT: Are we cool?

Nah you're not going to fuck up if you go slow and follow the steps, if you rush you'll fuck it up. Yeah, we're cool.

I recommend building a computer. I am also currently building a comp and I'm making a computer that would retail for around 1700$-2000$ for only 1000$

YouTube has shit load of tutorials on how to connect the parts so you shouldn't fuck up tbh.

Pre-builts are already terrible, but Alienware is over marketed, over priced, low quality shit. The GTX 745 is really bad, and for comparison a GTX 750 is the next step up, and a R9 270 is better than the 750, so that shows you how good it is there.
Kinda threw this together quickly, but you can get something like this for about the same price as that, but a lot better. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nkD7qs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6XSWi_QBsE : Performance of r9 285 vs gtx 750 which is a bit better than the 745 but not by much.

You make no sense, how did you get that I was afraid to do work?
