Shoutbox of course! A nice way for the community to socialize faster and easier. Shoutbox mods can be appointed and so on.

This is a nice idea, It does make it easier to have conversations with fellow members, and can greatly reduce thread spam.

On a site I'm admin on we got our shoutbox coded to where you can click a member's name and send him a private shoutbox message.

Example:

"/pvt Nestea hey there what's up?"

This sounds like a good idea, but is also a problem on many forums. When people install a shoutbox, members start to talk on there, and stop posting on the forum less. Great idea though. Thanks for contributing.

Also, every time a new thread is made a link shows up in the shoutbox, "A new thread has been posted!".

I hope to see at least some shoutbox implemented.

I was actually thinking about adding one of these to help create a more friendly/close atmosphere for the community. The basic shoutbox coding shouldn't be too hard, however those extra features will prove to be a little more challenging. Nevertheless this is a good idea, and will be added most definitely.
