First, a little background. My father took a man named Sam to court for stealing 76 cars over the course of a few years.(he was finally caught)

I live in the state of Tennessee, USA.

We went to talk with the District Attorney and the first thing we asked was how long Sam would be put in jail for.

The answer: he won't be.

Why? Because it was a non-violent crime. The worst he can get is probation.

Fuck the US, fuck lawyers, fuck good-doers, fuck the lawmakers

My dad owns a car dealership. Sam worked for him and over the course of 5 years stole 76 cars(he kept reporting them sold).

Can someone teach me how to pick car-locks?

I can

I got three lock pick sets and A set of bump keys for houses
The sets can be used on cars

You can also get a key gun Witch basically makes you the keys
All you need is the default key to start the car
only works on old cars

New cars just shut off in the first like 20 seconds

So. It's really not up to us to determine what sort of punishment a person deserves, and why wish someone to be locked up in a tiny cell for years. The guy probably has a pretty crappy life and this is his chance to change. Like a sign from "god".

So hire some hard pipe hittin' gangbangers to kill the bastard. Or cut off limbs until the debt is repaid.

You don't understand. Even with the greatest lawyer in the world the state of Tennessee will not allow anyone to go to jail unless a 'violent crime' has been committed. I know he shouldn't, and, to be honest, it should be considered grand theft.

The only chance we have is to get the charges grandfathered to before the law was passed which is possible because the case was filed 2 years ago and the law was passed 1 year ago.

THAT is where we'll need a good lawyer. But, unfortunately, it's ultimately out of our hands.

Most states say that felony crimes are punishable by more than a year in prision. The judge, however, can make the sentence longer or shorter depending upon several factors like, the number of times charged with the same crime, age of offender, and others.

I'm hoping he ends up charged with a felony. That will make life much easier for us. If not, he can't go to jail. That's why we're trying to get it to grand theft.

In my book he should be jailed for life. Nobody steals from me, let alone, 76 times. If he doesn't get jailed your state should just go fuck itself in the ass.

Like stolen a car without the key, or using any object as the key.
