Alot of people have a hard time making 3D text, so today im going to show you just how simple it is.

First Make an empty document about this size:

Then go to edit>fill and choose color and change the color to 333333 next to where it shows # then an empty box.

Now Type the text that you want to make 3D (preferably around 120-150px) make sure to use an easy to read font:

Ok now to give the text some style, im going to use a simple gradient:

Now i added a white 2px stroke to improve its visibility and make it stand out more and enabled the 33 bg we created previously:

(later on this also helps the colors from blending and making it hard to see the 3D effect)

Now that we got the text all together, right click the text layer and select duplicate then move it beneath the original:

Select the copied text layer the make sure you have the "move tool" selected, now hit the left arrow key about 7 times to nudge it over:

Looks pretty 3D to me ay?

Now if you were to take this a bit farther and implement a clipping mask effect and a shine, then throw in a reflection:

There are many possibility's with this effect, so try some things out for yourself and see what you can come up with :)

Part 2:Coming soon
(Includes the shine, clipping mask, and reflection techniques.)
