Site Suggestions

Hey - I've got lots of suggestions for the forum, which I believe that can help greatly but I wanna know what you think.

First of all, it'd be quite cool if we got a new banner as the one we're currently using is lacking something, perhaps it's too simple.
I have made a few examples that can be used if needed.
They're inside the spoiler.


It has also come to my attention that the emoticons used in the ezTraderSystem are pretty dodgey, as they have a white outline around them which makes them look horrendous. If you don't know how to access that page, you just have to check your UserCP and it'll be there.
I've gathered some emoticons which they should be changed to, imo they look far better than the current ones.
I'll also put them inside a spoiler below.


Recently, there has also been some conflict on the chat about userbars and how they should have the images removed or perhaps have the style changed. I don't know what you all think about this topic but to me, the current ones look like they don't fit in, they're too big and they're lacking something.

I was thinking that maybe a userbar (like the one I have posted below) would look better on a forum with a style like this.


There was also another conflict with the discussion of forum icons (the ones that tell you if there are new posts or not, and I agree that they do look pretty bad and I struggle to notice when there are new posts or not, so I also think that the ones below would look better.


Now, I'm not saying that all this stuff should be added - as I'm just trying to help out and I'm giving my word on how to do it. Please discuss about this, and think about it carefully. I have many other suggestions that I'll be posting soon enough, I'll just wait a while because I don't want to spam the suggestions forum.

I liked the forum icons and the Vouch system smilies.

They are super nice. I, personally, like the banner so I wouldn't want to change that just yet.
I also like the new post / old post icons as they go along with our Market Forums theme, being Sale etc.

The banner will be changed to one of yours most probably, ours is getting a bit stale now. I might hold a contest though for the greatest banner, and give the graphic guru award to whoever wins. The smilies you gave will definitely be added, when I'm up tomorrow.

As for the userbars, I'm a big fan of our current ones and most of Sky-'s work, though if more people want them changed then we can hold another contest for those, with the same prize (award).

Those unread/read images though are rather common (on a few other forums). I'm thinking to just remove them completely, as no one reads all the posts we get now since we're getting a lot daily.

Very nice suggestions that you've got there wormag, its very nice of you to go through all of that work for the forum.

Removing the icons is also another idea, as they're not really needed and I do agree with you Crayo -
those icons are overused but they do look nice on some forums.

I'm looking forward to the contest, as I'd like to see what people are gonna come up with, I'll post some more ideas shortly.

You should probably do a contest. Since removing them wouldn't be the best thing to do.

I would be interested in seeing a contest. I might have to practice up and get some of my banners ready. :grin:

I don't agree with icons you made for New Posts,No New Posts and Closed Forums. I prefer those we have right now. :tongue:

I really like the suggestions you made. I love the new vouch icons. Good job.
