[Smart Suggestion] Reporting Posts

Problem:

Okay so when you report a post a window pops up and there is an area you type in with why you are reporting the post. A lot of the times I report posts is because they are character evading or the post is in the wrong section.

How It Can Be Fixed/Solved:

Well if Philly were to add a drop down menu with the official reasons to report a post/posts it would make it easier for someone to report because they may not know the correct term for the violation.

The Official Reasons To Report A Post:

•Advertisement
•Adult Content
•Character Evasion
•Flaming or Threatening Behavior
•Illegal Activity
•Infectious Links
•Low Quality
•Off-topic Post
•Profile Violation
•Reputation Abuse
•Spam or Mass Posting
•Wrong Forum or Subforum

Reason(s) To Implement This:

It would make it a lot easier for the reporter and for the Moderator who sees the report.



That is all, for now. Do you guys think this should be added?

I find the current system a lot more fruitful for it doesn't confine the content of the reported post. However, if we were allowed to type and elaborate under one of the options in the drop down menu, then I'm all for it.

The other site... about hacking... you know...

Don't like this idea, being able to elaborate the reason is amazing. If the reason isn't on the list, then what do you report as? Spam? Other? There are more violations that should be reported via the report button than just shit like spam and character evading. There is shit like hosting fake giveaways, mass tagging, selling items a user doesn't own, general harassment (more than just Flaming). The list goes on and on. It's perfect as is. If you don't know how to report it as then you probably shouldn't be reporting it.

Of course, there would need to be an "other" option which brings up a text box.

Although this has been suggested and denied in the past, I really hope it goes through this time, it'd be a great improvement. I guess I sort of have this anyway though by this point, as it pops up with all my past reasons on chrome on all my mobile devices.

Ngl I haven't found much reason to use the report button on this forum, y'all are so chill. But yeah don't do anything that copies the hacking forum. Still a cool idea doe.

I applaud in agreement, however, I do believe a drop-down menu would encourage more users to report posts because it could be done more quickly. Let's not pretend like it's not the same users reporting posts consistently, because it's generally the same 2-4 users.

We could always add an 'Other' option if a drop-down menu were to be implemented so users could be promoted to a window similar to that of ours to explain why they are reporting the post(s).

Anyway, this suggestion is already pending and has been for 5 months.

That's right, I suggested it.

I would really love to see this implemented because it would make things much faster. Plus, it would encourage everyone to report, as Jason said.
