So what is the best type for music?

I say metal because it shows the most skill of the musician. But I am a much bigger fan of punk. Punk is really easy though lol.

It depends what I wanna hear at the time I guess, but either Hardcore, or Trance. I like many other genres, but those are my 2 most favourite.

It really depends on my mood, especially since my taste in music changes every 3 months or so. So I'll enjoy everything excluding foreign traditional music and country, I'm not a fan of heavy metal either. So I enjoy:

  • -Hardstyle
    -Dubstep
    -Hardcore (Screamo) (Some)
    -Alternative
    -Some Classic Rock
    -Classical
    -Trance
-Current style of some "rap" artists. So R&B with some hip hop and rap incorporated in it.

It's to hard to pick a favorite because it depends on my mood.

I wouldn't say there is a best genre out of all of the genres.Sometimes people need for music changes whenever they are in different moods.

Yeah I agree with all your guys' statements. I do listen to Hardcore and Punk mostly, but when I'm in a lighter mood i go towards alternative like TOOL or KARNIVOOL.

Being a classically trained musician, I actually appreciate choral / piano pieces.
I also compose my own choral pieces.
Other than that, I appreciate and can enjoy all types, however, my favorites are rap, and electronic / dubstep / hardstyle.

I love dubstep, it's hard to make a song that can take you over like dubstep does. Skrillex

I love metal. I listen mostly to heavy and power, and some melodical as well: Therion, Stratovarius, Helloween, Maiden.

80's and 90's pop was the drum beat era, 60/70's music i feel really introduced music you could dance to, early 2000-2008 were alright I guess mostly just lip singing pop, 2008-2011 is like the outcast era, the "freaks"/"underdog" takeover. So to be honest I think every era has something great to contribute to music regardless of the genre because I never really even look at that. Right now though my favorite songs would be:

Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer

and like everything on the RENT movie soundtrack.

I am in a punk/ska band and a hard rock/classic rock band. For drums the punk one is way harder and requires way more skill than classic rock but I enjoy doing both so I'm good.

Metal (especially powermetal).

Here's a list of the beast Bands I listen to the most;

Immolation - Hammerfall - The Sorrow - Atreyu - In Flames - Treshold, Equilibrium - Eluveitie - Kamelot - Imperanon - Sabaton - Mercenary - Pendulum - Killswitch Engage

(Not all are metal bands) however most are Mainstream bands and produce very good music IMHO.
