Hello everyone. Since I'm bored, I decided to make a quick summarization of everything you need to do after you install a fresh copy of Windows.
[or any other OS, but I can't guarantee you that every program listed here is compatible with other OSs].
_______
First of all, you want to install original copy of the OS, not a pirate version.
Why? Because you don't want to skip any important updates.
If you can't afford to pay for original copy, PM me and I will provide you with a simple little tool which will help you.
And if Crayo allows me I will post the download link here.
_______
Once you got everything done, you should install drivers that you got when you bought the machine. In case you installed Windows 7 (and I highly recommend you W7) it has auto download of drivers. So you will have everything done in matter of minutes.
Incase you don't want to install W7 and you can't find your CDs, you can download the drivers from internet. Just search for your graphic card name + "drivers", sound card name + "drivers" etc.
And if you are too lazy to do that, you can use programs like DriverDetective to find drivers for your machine.
_______
First programs that you should install, are security programs. Yes, I'm talking about Antiviruses, Firewalls and Malware/Spyware removers.
Great job! Now go ahead and install any other software you may need. Image viewers, editors, media players, office programs, utilities etc.
Since I know that you are a lazy pig, I made a little list for you.
Really nice, instructive thread here. Only suggestion I would make is to change the dark blue color, as it is a bit hard to read.
Other than that, really great post.
I also suggest Smart Close (google it for a cnet link).
It closes all the processes your computer doesn't need to run (you can stop it from closing certain ones like your internet if you really want to). It's nice, because it speeds up your computer quite a bit...
