In a normal post, I can see that he's a 'Writer', but I think it should also be known that he's a moderator. If I was a new member, it would be misleading.
If anything, make 'Moderator' their primary group and throw 'Writer' in the additional group section.
It works both way. You can set either one as your display group. Moderator is our primary display group so we can't leave it. But it's that way on any forum really, if you change your userbar people wont be able to tell you're a mod. It's a non issue.
or they should have the Name for example Mod - Pink Floyd, this way they can choose there usergroup but be known as a moderator.
other members who arnt modators should not be able to put that to there names.
