Some suggestions.

In this topic im going to go put a lot of effort writing this thread, so If you dont feel like reading a lot, just hit the back button on your browser! :hehe:

heres the two things Il be discussing.
1. What should be added to the site.
2. What should be removed/fixed/changed.

What Should be added.

Shoutbox- This is probably the most controversial one. The shoutbox has been recommend several times, and so far the valid points I saw was 1. It'll slow down the site. My response to that is this, Yes it may slow down the site but there are shoutbox's that wont, I beleive a link to a free one was recently posted. Boom, problem solved. 2. The shoutbox will create the forum inactiveness/Less topic posting wich wouldnt help the forum. My answer to this is think outside the box. A good way to do that is to make the shoutbox has requirements. Such as you need premium to chat in the shoutbox, and or requires something like 200 posts. I would also keep it open to the eyes that cant chat so that they want it that much more. wala.
Conculsion- The shoutbox would get more activity on the forum/money towards the site. Also if I was a guest @ a site I would want to join more if the first thing I saw was a shoutbox/ link at the top to a seperate page of shoutbox.

Thanks- Thanks as in on posts. This would show that a member made a good post, and hew would know it. A staff member (I forgot who) has responded with "It would be too much like XboxMB". My response to that person is that xmb doesnt own the thanks button, and whos says it needs to be exactly like theirs :thumbsup:.
Conclusion- Let members know there posts/funny memes are appreciated.

Reputation Giveing on Posts/Topics- I think this is key. This would result in more reputation given and when that happens I beleive the receiver of the rep would want to post more. This would result in more activity and help the site, Also its a pain in the :lipssealed: to have to go to their profile.
Conclusion- More posting and easier to use forums, Why wouldnt we?!

What should be removed/fixed/changed.

If uzi wants ill set up darks shoutbox on my host. You dont get a username or anything which sucks but members can still talk.

The shoutbox will definitely take away activity. If we were to add it at all, I say we wait until we have more members. We have a lot of bots, but only a few real people who post here daily. If we add it later, we will have a bunch of people posting and a bunch of people chatting. The thanks would be nice but rep for posts isn't needed. You can just link to the post. It isn't hard to visit somebody's profile. Uzi made it even easier. Example: Instead of

www.uzigaming.com/uid=9392928392489438

it is

www.uzigaming.com/<USERNAMEHERE>

Shoutboxes
I've been on plenty of forums and I can say that most successful forums didn't have a shoutbox. For example, look at Hackforums. They keep a good amount of active posting because everything they want to share, they make it in a thread. If you add a shoutbox, people would share in the shoutbox and posting would decline dramatically.

I would say no to this as we already have reputation. I see where you're going with it, but members don't have to be awarded for something funny they post. If it were numerous things, perhaps an award if they made many people laugh. I say no.

Well if you read the whole thing, I said we could put a requirement for it like 200 post count, wich would most likely drastically add activeness, And yea you can rep by going to someone profile but who does that, more rep would be given.

reputation- Thats cleary not my point, and you can already comment why if you havent noticed.

Shoutbox- you cleary havent read my topic fully either but, whatever.
I Have also been on many sites, and probably more then you, yes some with shoutboxes are un-successful but I have seen the same amount or even more without that have no shoutboxes
And If you havent noticed there are sites more succesful then HF with shoutboxes. TTG, XMB, etc.

Cleary the goods outway the odds,
And if there is no change, how will there be evolution?:yes:
