Someone help me with HTML

I know HTML, basicly - As in, I know how to make the website, put pictures, make basic menu links, and stuff. But I'm making this website for History Class - Due on Wednesday, Not everyone has to make one, but you could choose between other topics, and Website seemed appealing to me. Since I Computers. Anyways -

I get extra credit if it looks good - And I need x-tra credit for this class...
Anyone know how to make a HTML site look....more dazzled? Please post any suggestions how make it look cool. It's not hosted on any site, so it's not able to be visited besides me, from my PC.
