I'm here because a member of this forum stole my Twitter username. The thief is a user on FK called CatHax and most of his posts here relate to him selling twitter and youtube names (that he's obviously hacked and stolen).

I'm a reasonable guy and compared to having your eyes pecked out my vultures getting your Twitter username stolen pales in comparison. However, it's still really annoying. I liked using that name (@Tab) and I want it back.

I reported the theft to Twitter, changed my password and reported him on this site but any further advice would be keenly accepted.

There is no say that the accounts he was selling where actually hacked. Without proof it's just one person verse another. selling hacked accounts is not allowed here. If you can provide proof it's actually yours let me know.

Sure, that's that's perfectly reasonable. I can't prove any of the other accounts were stolen but I can prove mine was.

Here's a screengrab of my Twitter connect feed which comes up with @Tab results: http://i.imgur.com/MrdEp.png

I'm not sure how else I can prove I owned @Tab but I'll happliy provide any proof people suggest.

The cheeky guy even changed my name from '@tab' to '@tabisgone' and deactivated the account (I reactivated it)

Also, here is the @tab account: https://twitter.com/Tab

You'll see it's brand new and the guy has a link to this site, plus he's got a picture of a guy wearing a bandana over his face. I had a illustration of myself because I'm a cartoonist (and sometimes use twitter to post new cartoons).

I think you're probably right, although I'm obviously never going to pay the guy out of principle. I'm hoping Twitter might be able to return it to me if I can provide proof it was stolen but I don't really know if I have any other options.

That twitter was definately not yours, that screenie prooves absolutely nothing and can be edited easily. When I got the account it had been inactive, and to if it was really your account, why don't you tell them how easy your password was?
