He means the email isn't verified, which means you can change it, make it your own and secure the account. The game is already on the steam account, if your computer hasn't got it installed then you simply install it.

You'll still need a cd key to complete/start the installation.

You don't need CD keys on Steam, except for a couple of games.

Unverified = Changeable email.

And you don't need a CD key on Steam.

He could have put it on from a disk is what im saying, its unclear in the post. If he has added from disk then you'll need the key.
