Suggestion: For new members (Introductions)

I am unaware if this idea has been pitched yet, but if it has, please disregard my post and I apologize for this.

I recently had an idea when I noticed that many members (new members) were not posting introductions, but rather just beginning to post at random, and I believe that the Introductions section is actually very important as we get to know the members and perhaps make new friends when they post about themselves.

So, my idea is that, perhaps, when a new member joins, the first thing they see, (perhaps a pop-up/notice/pm) is a box and or page telling/hinting them to post in the introductions forum. So if they are not forced to post there, at least 80% of new members will actually do it, instead of the normal 50%.

If all else fails, we could at least have the first page a new member gets taken to being the introduction page, so they might take the hint, but I would definitely prefer if newer members were sent a PM/pop-up/notice on the introductions. Then we would have many more new members posting into that forum and therefore more members getting a feel of what our community is like.

Please take this suggestion into consideration, and please, if this has already been attempted/suggested, I really do apologize. Just my two cents.

Anything to get them posting introductions is good.

If i seen this when i first registered i would close the page and never come back.

I say if members want to introduce themselves, let them. If they don't, then so be it.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind that, but I would prefer if members had a hint or a PM as soon as they started, mentioning the introductions section and linking them at least, I feel it would just be nice.

I think this is a half good idea. What I think ill do is add something int eh welcome pm. Because I send a pm to every member that joins.

Yes, that was one of my ideas I mentioned. Thanks for considering my idea, I really do think this idea will help members become more HQ.
