Well When ever I report a post I find that What I am reporting it for is not properly listed there It is kinda covered by one or two but Not really


What I think should be done is


When you click to report a post It should have every rule in the help docs
So if it breaks that rule Then it will be properly reported


What I'm saying is instead of all the stuff now When you click report just Switch that out for the rules in the help docs



Also on my other site I use to own I implemented a Text box
So users can Explain why the post was reported etc


Who agrees? Who disagrees?

I don't want to have to do that 24/7 so I'm going to say no with the textbox idea.

However, I thought all of the rules in the help documents were in there?

The text box would be in the ModCP Right next to the reported post so It would be the exact same
If you see a kid say shit like that just Ignore the reported post

Any proper sounding report just go check out like you would normally


And Idk Where would Threats be listed under Flaming?

And if they were all on there There would be 20 report options

I think if there was just a textbox for the "Other" category it could help the staff understand what the person is trying to report though, could it not?

Yes, you and unspoken are correct. That would help.

I just don't want it to be abused and make me and the other staff members QQ.

Exacly but It should be for all the posts tbh

It adds NO work
It helps the staff understand why the user reported it
IF a person puts a comment liek "I W4NT DIS GON NAO I H8 IT" Just ignore the report


Like seriously it adds no more work for you guys
Just helps you guys understand what the reporter is trying to say

Well yes it does imo
Some users classify flaming differently as others

Like if a guy is calling me a dick Or w.e That to me is flaming and I report it
But I sometimes see it not get removed etc idk

It just makes the staff member understand more about why it was reported



For example

You call me a dick in a post
I report for flaming and add the text Calling me names etc Flaming me on the thread
Staff see's it and says to him self " Ok sounds reasonable lets check it out"
Goes to the thread See's the post and Does the job

Idk to me it makes sense but yea

Btw I was using Dick as a example I don't think any one has called me that yet

To be honest, I agree. We can figure out why the post was reported on our own. It's pretty damn obvious almost all the time.

so I write it how it would make sense to me

Its really up to The elite if he wants to add it
All it will do is help so I don't see a problem with it to be honest
But Its up to him to decide

I work on another big forum and people who report use the text box. It's never abused, and is really helpful. But, knowing members on this forum, they would do exactly what Dyker described so I have to say no to this...

Limit the amound of characters used. Limit it to 10 letters so that people aren't posting a life story to you guys about how they won $1,000,000,000,000,000 if they send their bank details to someone in India. Things like "spam bot", etc; can be written if nothing is of no avail in the current categories.

I think my post makes sense
