We all want more activity, right?
We all know interesting subjects = more posts = more activity.

The problem with RG in it's current predicament is it's boring. Plain and simple.

We need content that is going to bring in mature users. Yeah, RS might bring in a lot of users, but they're either pre-pubescent or act like it.

What actually is the reason TE won't add a mature section? I know loads of RS forums that have 18+ sections and they THRIVE, but he wont.

If we and TE want mature members, we need mature subjects. Things people want to talk about, not pixels.

By Mature, I don't just mean sex. I mean adult topics.

Opinions?

I don't really see that as being a big deciding factor in people wanting to stay or leave here

I'm talking about new members coming and wanting to stay.

There aren't thing here that want people to stay, apart from RS, which is for a smaller minority.

They come for runescape, they don't stay because we can talk about our pee-pee.

Well it kind of is a Runescape based forum lol. Thats like joining PSU forums for halo mods :3

Why does everyone think that people who are interested into Runescape are 12-13? About 70% of our active users are 16+. I am 17 and still like to play RS.

Mature does not mean 18+ it just means mature conversations.

You've got to be 18+ to have sex.
You can talk about it at any age.

See my point?

It doesn't have to have nude pictures/videos etc.

Your supposed to be 18+ to have sex. Don't have to. Shit they made like 3 TV shows about 16 year olds getting pregnant

I can see where it would help the community, but I am perfectly fine with not being able to discuss it too. It seems like if we had a mature section or place for such discussions, that would just be one more place for staff to have to thoroughly search for inappropriate material.

It just seems slightly pointless to me, but that is just me. The real decision is up to The Elite, and based on past suggestions, this one won't be any different.

This is a runescape forum. Adding more forums that is unrelated isn't necessary unless beneficial to the community or RuneGear.
To be honest, I don't think a mature section should be added, anytime soon.

Maybe we just need advertising? Adult sections will get abused with sexual content then pervs join for free videos etc..

Adult topics don't lead to maturity unless the user can grasp what's going on. Make a porn section and you'll see an influx of children with the intent of seeing breasts for the first time without being physically, mentally, or emotionally ready to handle it. If you want mature users on here I'd suggest we keep it as it is.

There is nothing blocking you from having mature discussion. Where in the rules does it say you're not allowed? If you're going to be discussing sex, that does break the rules. Although you even said that's what you're not suggesting.

If making a mature section makes Rune Gear "fun" for you, then this forum isn't the right one for you. If you also think that getting members to this forum through a mature section would benefit us, you're wrong. I'd actually rather stay away from those type of members joining the forum (just joining to discuss sex).
