Suggestions​

Suggestion 1: Live Chat​

The Idea:

The idea is basically a simple onsite based live chat.
It can help with loads of stuff from site activity to safer trades/deals.
It'll can also be good for user-to-user, user-to-group, and user-to-staff interaction.
Please refer to the list below of possible things that the chat idea can achieve.

What It Can Accomplish:

  • Possible Live Support
  • Possible Faster Support
  • Faster Trades/Deals
  • Eases the Process of Trades/Deals
  • Possible Monitored Trades for Scammers and Other Stuff
  • More Activity on Site
  • Stop Scams From Happening
  • More Interaction With Users
  • Quicker Interaction Between Usergroups
  • Overall Better Site Experience for New/Old Members

It can stop people from stealing identities for scams. It can speed up trades without the hassle of having to wait for PM's or using off site based chats.
Users can interact with each other which is ideal for usergroups. It can boost site activity.

I think it will just overall help as well as be a much more enjoyable experience.

Other:

The following could be an extra and might have to be added.

  • Chat Groups
  • Block Button

Both for obvious reasons that should pop in your head! !

Suggestion 2: More Customizable Profile​

The Idea:

A more customizable profile for users to express themselves more.
It can help a user show more of himself/herself.

Customization such as:

  • Changeable Backround - Whatever the User Desires
  • A Section for a User to Post His/Her Hobbies and Interests
  • A Section for a User to Upload His/Her Own Photos

Not much but I think it'll help users express themselves more and will be more enjoyable experience for some.

Suggestion 3: A Review Section​

The Idea:

Make a place for users to review stuff such as movies, games, music, and other.
The belief of bringing ReviewForums back to life but on site in it's own section.
I believe it'll be a really active section due to the fact there is always new songs, movies, and games coming out every day.

What It Can Accomplish:

  • More Site Activity
  • More User Interaction With Other Users
  • Users Can Share Interests With Each Other

Once again, more enjoyable experience for users and definitely interactive.

Not a fan of the first suggestion tbh. Aim works fine and nearly everyone uses it, and if not they more than likely have Skype. PM's are also easy to use. It just seems like it'd be more work than it'd be worth.

I really don't care for the second suggestion much. It's not twitter.

I like the last one about reviews. I would love to see a review sub-forum. I'm not sure why there isn't one already.

The only problem with the first suggestion is that it'll take away from users posting, which we definitely do not want.

See I was thinking about that to but I don't think it will.
People will still post because threads require a different type of response.
I was waiting on a Staff response . Thanks for the feedback!

The first suggestion has already been suggested and was denied due to the fact that the activity would decrease.

Suggestion 1: We had the IRC/Live Chat plugin but it was hardly used.

Suggestion 2: Not possible in MyBB, unless you add dozens of plugins, which will slow down the site.

Joint as well as many other members have suggested similar ideas and they have all been shutdown do to what Jimmy stated above. However I would enjoy having a feature similar to this I just don't think it could be possible :/

As for the profile design, there is a plugin that is available for what you are asking for, but I have no idea if it's still used. Link to plugin.

For the review section, this would be great.

I hope the last one can become a thing. I'm going to link it to Philly and try to get it up just in time for the new layout.
