Hey guys,

In my opinion, the farewell subforum isn't that good of an idea.
If a member is leaving, and posts a topic there, odds are, if he's a known member, there will be some drama over it.
Also, odds are, that he/she will return at some point in the future.

This is just MY opinion, no pun intended to the Admin that came up with that idea.

I just believe it would cause some unnecessary drama and maybe some flaming.
Flaming in the case of, "I'm leaving this forum sucks all the Admins suck!" Or something like that. Which would cause more flaming from current members towards the user, etc etc.

Just my 2 cents.

I find this not so good of an idea. even if they return it just means that they will re-join make a new introduction and carry on like it never happened. Then a staff could just delete the farewell thread.

Well tell me what's easier.

Leaving, making a farewell thread, explaining why your leaving, members discussing your departure, etc. Then returning, posting a new introduction thread (Even though everyone that was here prior to your departure already knows who you are.) and being back.

OR

Leaving. Not posting anything about your leave. Returning, not posting anything about your return. If a member asks why you were inactive, it's your choice whether you want to tell them or not.

Or we can just keep it and use it for permanent people who are not coming back. Even Boxxy denied this idea

That yes I agree with.
For example.

"If you post a topic that you're leaving in this forum, you are not permitted to return."

Or something like that.
To make people think twice.

And o.o where?
I don't see Boxxy's post anywhere in this thread.

She didn't post she said it in the chat.
And once someone makes a farewell thing they get banned.
