The Greater Likelyhood of Women Selecting a Believe in a Deity

I have found, in my time, that women are much more likely to be "believers in God". I have a theory about exactly why this is. Now, not to be sexist, but we all know that the female sex is the more needing sex when it comes to companionship and the feeling like someone is always there for them. I believe this is exactly why it is easier for women to grasp at god and harder for them to let go of the concept. There may, however, be something much more neurological at play here, I'm not sure, maybe a woman's mind is more malleable and gullible. Tell me what your thoughts are, please. :sleepy:

As I've said, exactly as I've noticed.

I think women have to have some sort of goal/belief in there life more than men. We seem to just be able to say 'fuck it' and carry on with our life not knowing what's around the corner, whereas women seem to need to plan/know what's going to happen which is why I believe they are generally much more organised than men aswell.

This is easy to understand if you read a bit about Romanticism in Europe. Feelings and emotions were emphasized and people believed there had to be meaning to things, were more artistic, imaginative & spiritual but less rational and objective. Together with this it came natural that they would believe there was a reason for us to be here, there was more than what we can see with our eyes. There is more than just material objects, there was a spiritual side and there was a deity. God existing is related a bit to emotions, feelings, following your heart and not your rationality.
It was "the age of the right brain" so to say. And it is already proven men are more mentally and emotionally "stable" than women are so woman are more gullible too.

Rationality would say love is gradually lost by time, though a lot of women believe there is a true love which will never be lost, nor slowly disappear. So as I said, following heart before brain.

I do agree with this quite a bit. I have never met a female atheist, all of them have been men.
