The proper age to use mobile phones.!

We went to the mall yesterday and since its family day in here, there are lots of kids with their parents. what caught my eye are kids with cellphones in their hands... They were like 8 to 10 old. Then I told my sister, gosh having kids will cost us a lot.. I told her look at all those kids instead of robots and barbies, they are playing with cellphones and ipods... who knows how our future kids will be... what do you think is the right age to give kids cellphones or other gadgets ? I think 16 is the best age... or maybe I am only talking because I am not a mom yet.. I think if I will be sending my child to school, I will also make him or her bring a cellphone, but not an expensive one, only for him or het to reach me when they need something or there is an emergency...

yahh same here in our country children now have cellphone already at age of 8-10 years old unlike before you must be teenager to have that expensive cellphones.
