Theory why limbo exists

Now that when you go to claim a gamertag, and it shows as available, micrsoft reserves that tag until claimed, for say, 30 minutes. 

If there are multiple turbos on that one tag, the tag could be seen as available on multiple different account, but can't be claimed as it's reserved to abother account for 30 minutes. But why does limbo occur for so long? Either the turbos aren't stopping, or the time of the "reserve" is stacking. 2 people turboing, 1 hour. 6 people turboing, 3 hours, and so on. 

Just a theory, others have probably thought of this already.

you can test this out by making a bunch of accounts with nerd names like "Agony is a nerd," Agony is a nerd1," etc etc. and seeing if any of them go into limbo. This won't necessarily confirm your suspicions if none go into limbo, but if one does go into limbo, then it can certainly rule them out.

That's pretty interesting, never thought about it like that. I remember one time before I knew about this site. I was looking for tags to see if any were available. I found one that said it was and I went out and bought a $50 msp card because that's all they had at the time. When I went to change my name it wouldn't let me(I later learned about limbo etc.) I was pretty pissed even contacted Microsoft support.

Few of us need to test this. It doesn't bother me as I never swap. But I know few people @agony @sade who lost to turbo and limbo
