This leveling thing is kind of dumb in my opinion, takes forever to level up, you get exp for posting and replying and what not. Replace it with something else, something that people can enjoy and use.
That is a good idea. But are the levels and posts directly proportional? If so then that would be do the exact same thing as hiding content for people under a certain post count.
What Haunter said could still be applied in other ways. Perhaps making a section of the forum for certain level members could be one way to make it so leveling actually has some use. This could also be a way that people who aren't premium could have their own "private" section of the forum.
I have wondered about those "points". No idea why they are there if they don't do anything. Should at least be hidden until they get that system working.

I'm not sure how good competitions involving posting are. I think they would cause more spam/useless posting, instead of high quality posts that mean something. I think it would also lead to redundancy.
Anyway, I think they should go ahead and make the points invisible to normal users whenever the system isn't being used.
Actually, the points do work. They just go up by 10^-10 every post. I've seen points be used to redeem usergroups, stickies, and all kinds of stuff. I've even seen it being redeemed for paypal $. It would be interesting to have that system working. And if you manage to get 10,000,000 posts, you would have 0.01 points but nowhere to spend that. Unfortunate, if you ask me.
Yeah, that's pretty much what I was trying to get at ha, The leveling system is useless right now, adding some rewards and benefits of leveling without encouraging spam or anything would be good.
