What if you threw a party and only three ladies came — and then commenced executing a ritualistic-seeming dance in the middle of the floor that evoked a coven of witches turned loose on Studio 54? Well, then you’d have “Circulation,” a new music video from Thurston Moore.
Moore (of Sonic Youth fame) recently came out with his third solo album, Demolished Thoughts, a folky-yet-not-folk-music-y tour de force that evokes Nick Drake — back from the grave.
“Circulation” stands as one of the moodier tracks on the album, thrumming with loaded lines like “Needle hits black lacquer/Speakers forgive lies,” and “She’s not here to stay/She just came by to shoot you baby” that make one wonder how the above party will play out.
