Tighter Rules for Moderating.

I think Mod Permissions should be a little more restricted. If they are allowed to go around doing things like Stickying threads, or opening/closing Threads Posted by an Admin, then the Mod Usergroup would be pointless, and the Mods will start to think that they run the place, when they don't.

The only difference between it and the Admin Group would be access to the ACP, but no difference in the forum itself.

Opinions?

Agreed ;p, but we should be able to close/open threads created by users.

Yea, I completely agree with that, but if the Thread is made by an Admin, the Mod should not be permitted to mess with it.

Don't see why a moderator would want to close an admin thread, but alright ;P

I talked to eX about this he said I could. I don't take those kind of actions on my own my own. I'm not a fucking sad ass kid + my thought is a thread should be sticked when it involves the rules or there is a change in moderation. Maybe it should have an admins approval before it (on most sites a mod is allowed to stick or unstick threads + lock and unlock topics), I don't like the thought of that too much, but I can live with it. + if you do know what a moderator does (on bigger sites) it should be the same. Just because we're a smaller site doesn't mean I'm going to do my job less professionally. A moderator helps run the site, and takes the work off an admin + enforces the rules. If there are too many people in the "Support" group (as it is related to the site not gaming, manipulating, and other things) then I find it pointless that everyone applies, because they mostly get accepted. I ask you why have 50% of all the active users in the support group? To support who? If they're all bloody support who should they be supporting? Take sometime and think about those things.

Your circumstance was ok but notify the admin before you do it. We have more permissions and can reopen it no problem make sure that we agree with the closing and give you permission. In the future follow this.

If you go check the thread I said you have all right over me to open the thread. I'm not going to tell an admin what to do, but I think it was just best for the community to close that thread since everyone was applying to the support group, and getting accepted. + as I mentioned before I did talk to eX about it, but didn't have the chance to talk you about it.

Maybe you're just a little inexperienced, but a good Mod doesnt PM another Staff Member and ask for Permission to close a Thread. Why would you do that, is pretty stupid IMO. Noone else would do that, and you should have enough knowledge to know what should be moderated.

Also, please dont give me a rant about the Support Group and take this Thread off-topic. They are not part of the Official XS Team, so they are invalid.
