Too many sections.

Don't need tabs to fix it, you've got far too many sections here. Merge the inactive ones into others and add thread prefixes or something.
 
they'll be fixed. They were all in organized sections, its just broken atm.

Doesn't matter if they're tabbed or not, there's still far too many sections in my opinion. Less is more.
 
They went to the work to get this forum big enough to have a lot of active people and conversations. Just because its runescape based doesn't mean that it has to only be runescape. Each section has some posts in it, which is all that matters. The forum is unactive enough as it is, and removing sections would make that worse

I disprove of this suggestion. Sorry :)
 
Removing sections wouldn't do anything except neaten it up a bit.

Besides, the sections themselves could be organised better before anything else.
Botting discussion should be under Runescape Cheating, not Runescape, and the opposite for Runescape Giveaways and possibly Runescape Dumps, and the Maplestory and Battlefield areas just aren't needed. It's a waste of space.


Just give it time.

I can't begin to tell you how wrong that is... removing sections makes it less active? Are you serious? It gives it a more active look.

-Runescape PKing hasn't been posted in since 12th January. Don't see why you couldn't merge that one with something and add a PKing prefix.
-Maplestory section has 1 thread and 23 posts. Not posted in since 11th January...
-Why not merge Xbox & Playstation to "Game Consoles" and again add prefixes. PS3 is no where near as active as Xbox.
-The whole graphics category should go. It's really inactive. Have one graphics section perhaps with sub-forums or again prefixes, and put it in a "Miscellaneous" section with the computer section too.

Just a few examples there.

More sections is for expanding the forum and broadcasting it out so there's a lot of topics to talk about. This will help bring many different kinds of users for different games.

Probably the most common myth in forum history. If a section is there which hasn't been posted in for months, scrap it. Move the threads to a similar section and add a thread-prefix. That doesn't stop growth at all.
 
One second you're moaning about how inactive the forum is now you want to delete entire sections.

That's good news. RS seems to be active. It's the computer sections, graphics sections etc like you say could be merged.

Argh, my god. You ever had that fly that never goes away? Then when you ask him questions he knows nothing about forums? I have.

Anyway. When a forum turns inactive (I've never moaned at this forum being inactive, I was quoting you when you moaned) you don't do what you think TE should do, add a shoutbox and more sections. Reduce the amount of sections and it appears to have more activity. Wait, why am I even explaining to you?

I've only ever seen runescapeforums, no other forum from you. Well a couple, but they were hideous (not sure if you owned them or not). I don't complain, I project my opinion. You're the one mass-complaining here.
