[TuT] Torrent Spreading Part 1
Seeds are downloaders who use a p2p client to upload data to other downloaders.
The more seeds you have, the higher and more stable your torrents upload speed will be.
Seed 1 = 50kb/s upload speed
Seed 2 = 150kb/s upload speed
Seed 3 = 75kb/s upload speed
Seed 4 = 250kb/s upload speed
Seed 5 = 175kb/s upload speed
Total Upload Speed = 560kb/s
So if one person was downloading they would download at 560kb/s
If two people were downloading they would download at 280kb/s each
The one drawback is people can stop and start seeding at any time they want, if there computers are off they aren't seeding.
With proper images and a good looking thread layout for your torrent you should have enough active seeds to handle any amount of average downloading.
Seedboxes : The secret weapon for insanely fast speeds
Seedboxes are servers dedicated solely towards uploading data and managing torrents.
They put out huge amounts of upload power, more then enough for multiple torrents.
Seedbox 1 = 100mb/s
Seed 1 = 50kb/s upload speed
Seed 2 = 150kb/s upload speed
Seed 3 = 75kb/s upload speed
Seed 4 = 250kb/s upload speed
Seed 5 = 175kb/s upload speed
Seed 6 = 55kb/s upload speed
Seed 7 = 80kb/s upload speed
Seed 8 = 120kb/s upload speed
Seed 9 = 100kb/s upload speed
Seed 10 = 300kb/s upload speed
Total Upload Speed = 101355kb/s (101.35mb/s)
So if 50 people are downloading your torrent they are downloading at 2027.1kb/s (2.02mb/s)
People are going to want to download the torrent with 2mb/s instead of the torrent with 0.9kb/s.
That means more downloads, more seeders, more upload speed, and more infections.
