Unemployment Under Obama

Unemployment Rate for September, 2012 - 7.8% of everyone age 16 and up.

Thats approximately 24,304,169.526 out of 311,591,917 people.

Those of you who think that unemployment is lower since Obama took office, you are wrong. It's worse than when he took office, and it reached an all-time high in October of 2009 at 10%.

From 2004-2008, when Bush was in office, the national unemployment rate was lowering and lowering. When Obama took office in 2008, it starting rising, and peaked in October of 2009 at 10%. After that it started declining, but it is still higher now than when Obama took office.

Now some of you may say that we can't blame the unemployment rate on Obama, because of the global recession. If this is what you want to believe, then you cannot claim that because rates have lowered from 2009 until now, Obama is to take credit for this.

Remember the stimulus bill? That was signed by Obama on February 17th, 2009. The same year the national unemployment rate reached its all-time high at 10%.

Please stop saying Obama has lowered the national unemployment rate, when he clearly has not.

The economy crashed in 2007. It started climbing right before Bush left office. Obama got the worst start to his presidency than anyone before him.

That's what I said in OP.

"Now some of you may say that we can't blame the unemployment rate on Obama, because of the global recession. If this is what you want to believe, then you cannot claim that because rates have lowered from 2009 until now, Obama is to take credit for this."

Nice post, eXero. I personally am not a fan of Obama. But I am also not a republican. I like watching how people will try to defend people who represent their political party by ignoring facts and through hypocritical views. I like how you said this as well: "Now some of you may say that we can't blame the unemployment rate on Obama, because of the global recession. If this is what you want to believe, then you cannot claim that because rates have lowered from 2009 until now, Obama is to take credit for this." Smart and logical thinking right there.

Articles on Yahoo! always have many comments that are funny and dumb.
Here is an example:

That's some good logic right there. Everyone who doesn't like Obama must be racist because he is black! Extremely ignorant thing to say.

i am not really a fan of politics but unemployment will always be an issue in this country as long as illegals are in this country and jobs being shipped over seas for cheaper labor

Obama wasn't president in 2008.

why do we not have a facepalm smilie.
Obama took office January 20, 2009, And look at when unemployment stopped rising. Oh right, January 2009. Do you not see the extremely sharp increase in unemployment from 01/08 - 01/09 (which Bush was still in office). He may not have lowered it, but he stopped it from increasing more.

Now don't say i'm an Obama lover, because i'm not. I dislike both candidates for president, and i disagree and agree with thoughts from both sides.

Obama promised a 5.0% or less by the end of his term, it's nowhere near close. Whether he took office in 2008 or 2009, it's still rising. You can't blame the rise on Bush if you can't blame it on Obama as well.

Politicians promise stuff and don't abide to it because either:
A. They just lied
B. Figure out it'd be physically impossible to do.

It happens every election, you can't take a politicians word.

I agree.

I am just hoping Romney can keep his word better than Obama did. So far Obama is 0 out of whoknowshowmanypromises.
