Vouch system.

In this thread, I'll be explaining why there should be a vouch system put in place. As most of you know already, reputation doesn't mean shit. Most of the time people will give reputation, and they expect reputation back. Reputation is based on opinions most of the time. With the vouch system, you'll only be allowed to give a vouch to a user if you've completed a trade with the user. Moderators will monitor this to make sure users aren't buying vouches, or receiving vouches from their group of friends. The vouch system will hopefully also decrease scams around the forum.

I'd like to know your opinions on a vouch system, if you think this is a bad idea then please explain why.

I think this is a great idea, most of the high rep 2014-2015 members are from rep4rep.

More I think about this the more I don't like it.
Will end up boosted the same way with trades.

A. This is just another idea ripped off of LF that won't be implemented.

B. We have a "Vouches" subforum. A complete, detailed vouch from a member is much better than a tallied number.

C. No one should base trustworthiness off of reputation points.

D. Posting vouches maintains site activity/statistics.

Then all the new trades should contain a moderator as middleman. Otherwise it wouldn't help, since people will lie about trades just to get vouches.

@Sector I'm sure quite a few forums have a vouch system, but it's proven to be helpful. Most people are unaware of the vouches sub-forum, and some people do base trustworthiness off of reputation points and that's why we should have a vouch system implemented. We could have the vouch system, along with the vouches sub-forum. In the vouch, the user must include a link to their vouch thread also.
