Learn html if you are beginner. Html is very simple. If you already know html, then learn xhtml, then move forward to wml, php basic etc. Goodluck

I never actually used this when i started, i self taught everything from looking at websites sources XD. After that i moved to http://tizag.com for the great PHP tutorials.

W3Schools is worthless IMHO.

I prefer using books, with books you can add tabs, circle things, take notes etc.

W3School is actually not that bad but I think they are for beginners and it is 60%+ based on HTML. Not a bad site if you are beginner though.

It is worthless to me because it doesn't explain what you are doing well. It just tells you to do it and get a result.

It explains what the code is, what it does, why it's there and then offers you this good page where you can try it yourself. Amazing site
