I have win7 and I'm not too much of a fan of it, I like xp better, I want to install xp on my laptop I got for christmas 2010, i dont have a usb or cd's... and cant afford them (long long story) how can I install xp? is there any way?

There are many different ways. You could torrent XP, which would take a really long time to download, and be very buggy just because it isn't a legit copy. You could put this torrented XP onto your computer's hard drive as a second OS, still buggy of course, or you could use a virtual system, like VirtualBox and then install the torrented XP in VirtualBox and not mess your computer up at all. If you go with VirtualBox, make sure you have at least 6GB of Ram in your computer, or it will be extremely slow. Also, make sure your computer can handle running VirtualBox with an OS in it.

Don't think you can install it if you can't get a CD or USB, but I may be wrong.

Ninja is correct. You CANNOT emulate a OS install disk if you are trying to install that OS. Because once the computer reboots, the daemon unloads it. Unless you want to run your machine in a permanent Virtual Machine (Not advisable), it is implossible.

Also, check this out. It may go way over your head, but it's worth a read. It's kind of like a Virtual Machine, except with no master OS in the background (other than the default services).

Unfortunately, you're wrong @[eXero] . She doesn't want to Dual Boot (Still impossible with your methods; read my post), she wants to revert back to Win XP. And I also mentioned Virtual Machines, but I can't advise it. I highly doubt his laptop would have 6GB ram in it, OR the raw power.

I wouldn't revert back anyways. That would just mess the laptop up. But it is possible to run XP all the time. I would just keep Win7 for in-case situations.

Also, If you only got the laptop for Christmas last year. Removing Win 7 and putting XP on it will void the warranty, so I would suggest leaving it as is.

Not after spending $13,000 USD on rent for my apartment, gas money, bills, and paying back a loan my dad and I took out to fix our car. IRL shit before internet shit.

I don't care about the warranty. If my laptop fucks up, it fucks up. I have a legit win7 that was given to me, so if XP fails it's all good. But I know there's a way to boot xp and rid of shitty 7

Windows 7 outperforms Windows XP. But when it comes to gaming. XP wins.
