This debate is being debated everywhere from medical fields to the community itself.

I will be honest with you guys I am 18 years old mulatto male, I have smoked weed three times in my life. (once a dubbie (1 joint), the second time was a shit load I think we were 3 smoking on a ozie... and the last time was a set or im not to sure what they call em... but anyways that last time I remember I actually failed at smoking it.)

Getting to the point: is smoking weed really going to have a impact in my life ?

I have told myself that I will try not to touch 1 more joint in my life, but sometimes I CRAVE for some.

should I smoke some once in a while or should I follow my role models ?

ps. I havnt talked about my goals in life but here they are: Next year I am studying to be a paramedic after this will be done. I am hopping to join the Canadian forces as a medical technician (medic)

Weed has no physical addiction, it is also NOT a gateway drug. If your going to smoke, smoke in small amounts and only once in a while for the fun of it. Whatever you do, NEVER serve people. You'd be fucked if you get caught.

Weed IS a gateway drug, it allows to person to reach a physical and mental high which could be incredibly dangerous. When someone gets used to level one high, he will then require 2x the amount and so on, until the weed will no longer satiate the pleasure of getting to that mental high.

I have friends that have gone through rehab starting with weed and then ended up taking more intense drugs because the weed wasnt working as they all became to used to the drug.

Rofl, this is such an educated answer.

I think to give an educated answer you must have at least smoked it before.

I smoked weed for 7 1/2 years.

I am 21 and haven't smoked in 2 years... well, at least not like I used to. I only smoke on 4/20 now, and that is with some friends while we party.

I started smoking when I was 13, and stopped right before I turned 20 due to the high levels of anxiety and paranoia it gave me. Even though my dad has anxiety and it is hereditary, I still believe the paranoia weed brought on gave me my anxiety problems.

Now, will weed lead to hard drugs? Fuck no. Did I ever do hard drugs? Fuck yeah.

Did I just one day say "Hey, I am bored of smoking weed, I want to go roll on some e's".

No, I did not.

A friend and I wanted to try because we heard of it's euphoric effects and wanted to experience it. Next thing you know, I was addicted to e's and spending $150+ a day on it (between friends of course).

So no, weed did not lead to harder drugs, it was my OWN decision. I guess sometimes people forget they have this wonderful thing called a brain which they can use to make decision for themselves. Saying weed is a gateway drug is the biggest crutch to help people feel better about themselves.

Now, your case is a personal case, however, if you were to read what people have written, or hear what people speak about clearly my reply was a valid one.

I think researching the subject would enhance your vision on it because Weed can in no way shape or form be helpful for your body, and rather it is incredibly harmful for the reason I said above. Could you have been the exception to the many thousands who have died of over dosing and have gone through extensive amount of rehab? Yes. However, people like you arent too common, so therefore it is a terrible thing.

Ask all of the addicts. They don't start as an addict, they start off with one Joint every month (example) and it slowly acts as a catalyst for more and more, where the body will then start to need the drug and eventually result in a relapse when not taken.

I have gone through it.
And I woken up to my body fevers and have been exposed to the many months of rehabilitation, and trust me, it is not fun.
Therefore I do know what I am talking about.
I have been clean for almost 2 years now, as I allow college to take over my life, as well as the feeling of ever going back to that fearful moment where I had almost died.

Now, after I just revealed a very sensitive thing in my past time, I think you can stand to reason that I do know what I am talking about, and that smoking weed will ultimately harm you if continued.

What, I am supposed to sit back and believe what you say because you said it?

You offer no valid argument other then the fact that you try to pin marijuana as a gateway drug because people start off smoking weed?

There are PLENTY of people around who smoke weed and never go to anything harder. Why? Because they are using that wonderful thing I was talking about in my last post called a BRAIN.

And to ANYONE who said weed influenced their decision is a weak minded moron who probably would have collapsed anyways from the stress of regular life.

So just because you were weak minded and can't handle the fact that you decided on your own to move onto a harder drug doesn't mean marijuana is a gateway drug.

The whole "research" comment on it is hilarious. What, you're going to believe research put out there by the same people who told us that weed killed brain cells? Rofl, that is very liable evidence you have there.

I am the research. At about 3 years in, I was smoking everyday and least a quarter a day, sometimes more. I would do nothing but smoke weed as it helped me eat, sleep and calm down. Was I mentally addicted? You're fucking right I was and I wont deny it. Did I think smoking weed helped me through the day? Yep. But did I ever once think that "Hey, this is boring... fuck it, I am going out to buy .5 piece of coke instead of my quad". Nope.

As well... did I ever once imply that smoking weed did any good for you? No. So you can leave that out of your next reply because I was simply arguing the fact that you tried to pin it as a "gateway" drug which is a hilarity, especially as a smoker of almost 8 years.

You can also leave the sympathy stories out, because I have been through more then the regular teenager. Is it worth going into? No, because what does it do to spill my life story on a forum to a bunch of people who probably wont believe it. All I am saying, is don't bother, because it is not doing anything to your argument other then proving you were more weak minded then when you decided to move onto a harder drug and blame it on weed.

Anybody else here willing to debate the subject? Seems like Pesterd has given up, which is fine.

I just enjoy arguing the subject due to my experience with it.

So feel free to post an argument and I will gladly debate with you.
Weed is spelt with 2 e's. Amiright? Debate that :)

but in all seriousness, these threads about weed are boring, pestard didn't "give up" he just doesn't care anymore, which is understandable.

Not from what it seems.

Someone who didn't care wouldn't have posted such long, drawn out responses.

All he had backing his statements were attempts with sob stories which are completely ineffective... so he stopped posting.

If you think it is boring, don't reply, it is as simple as that.

I guess I sometimes forget that I am on a Runescape forum.

People that say something like loss of memory or its a gateway drug have never smoked before. Yes, it gives loss of memory but only while your high, so you wouldn't remember something you did while high like you'd misplace your phone. The more you smoke the less you need to get high. Weeks where I smoke every day I get high off the first hit.
