What are Kudos?

Since I am a returning member I just noticed below every thread it says like Kudos Given or Kudos relieved what are those? Do they take the place of Thanking the Thread or?

Kudos are a way to show appreciation on a post. It's basically a way to say "Thanks". You should use it to show that you agree or like what was posted. Also you should always leave a Kudo if someone posts a method that you find helpful.
