What does being gifted in music actually mean?

Music is actually a vibration of particles that form a tune.
Having perfect pitch means that you can tell different frequencies from each other.
Being good at playing an instrument means that you process information in your brain quickly and that you have a large lung capacity (woodwind)

So when people praise you for having a good musical ability, what do they mean literally?

Also, don't you think that there might be a link between being good at studying and being good at music?

When I hear the term musically gifted, I don't think of the science behind it, I think that they are implying that the person they are directing the words at is someone that is very good at music, so much so that they stand out from the others at their age. The perfect example I have is one of my dads, friends kid. He can play, really well, 17 different instruments, then along with that, he can play almost any song on those 17 instruments after hearing it once. It sounds insanely improbable and that I am making this up, does it not? Well, the reality is, that he can. He is now 19, I believe, and even if he was in his 80's and had been a musician his whole life that would still be something hard to be able to do.

I believe that playing a musical instrument has an effect on your ability to work harder. The process of remembrance when playing a musical instrument is much like the process of learning, retracing the same electric pathways again and again in the brain.
Therefore being gifted in music means you have good brainpower, whether you use that in the same way as others, such as mathematics, isn't always the same.
Another way of looking at a good musician is whether they have a good knack for making popular music ;)

Yeah, I have noticed that all of my friends who are good with instruments are really good with studying and memorization. I am really jealous of them actually, I can study well I suppose, I just don't care to. I would rather spend my time doing something I enjoy.

Huh?
I think you mean being gifted at music is when you can learn multiple things from it and being able to recite it?

I agree with the recital part. The fundamental part of knowledge is the ability to retain it. If you can do that, you're onto a winner.

Another factor would be whether you can perform well under pressure.
However I'm still not sure what category performing well under pressure would fall into, would it be courage, bravery or...?
Sorry, I'm drifting off topic abit

Answer directly to OP: There is no literal meaning, but when people say it, gifted in music means that can play music nicely. Like, they enjoy it more than when others play.

Generally what I understand by Gifted in music is that the person has more ability than others to play a certain instrument(music), or he/she has more passion about music than most of the people.

However thats exactly the point i'm trying to make.
The ability to play a instrument is in reality the quickness of your reflexes and how your ear hears certain vibrations of particles.
