What I think should happen in schools.

After hearing about the Connecticut Massacre, I thought some things to myself. How will this be stopped in the future? It wouldn't be the simple buzzer system obviously, the gunman just shot a window and climbed in. That lead me to say, bulletproof windows all throughout the first floor? That would stop anyone from getting in at all without using the buzzer unless they decided to blow up a side of the buliding of course, and there's nothing you can do really to prevent that. The main thing I wanted to talk about was at least one police officer in each school. I'm pretty sure some have them, but I mean all here. If someone were to want and do something this like again then the last thing they'd want was someone in their way. An armed policeman would be that, having to get through him first.

Obviously things like politics and gun control would step in make these more challenging but one really needs to happen regardless.

The reason I don't support gun control is once they are banned/just some more limits are put on them you will still be able to access them. It was the same way during the prohibition of alcohol too, the deepweb or something could easily be the difference between just one man getting a gun, to do a horrible thing like shooting up a school or whatever he intends to do.

They have security/police in almost every High School and maybe middle school but elementary schools were never considered dangerous, until now. There are a few measures that could really help but its hard to prepare for a mad gunman on a suicide mission no matter what.

Teachers shouldn't have arms in the building because what if a teacher is a psychopath?

I never said they should have them, only the police officer(s) would.

I have never heard of a school with an armed officer. My high school is just walk in, walk out, whenever you want. Simple as that.

My high school has two armed officers, maybe it depends on the size of the school or what but most schools.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust most of my teachers with a gun...

When did I ever say there would be..? Also Zeus as Damnation said I don't know many schools with police officers, but I will say my old elementary and middle school had them. Not in my high school, though.

Guns aren't the problem, people are the problem. Eliminate people = eliminate the problem. But of course, that's obviously not going to happen. Life goes on.

Which is why these measures should be put in place, the gun part of it doesn't really matter.

Wrong. You can't change the way a human thinks no matter what. It's their own judgment unfortunately.

So, you think we should try to prevent it ahead of time by getting the message out that it's wrong? That's been done enough and the man who did it had autism, they usually have some type of mental illness but I see where you're coming from.

We actually have 4 armed state officers on our campus during school. Well, being near a "ghetto" type of area gets you that. But it's still a nice sense of security to know someone can shoot back if you're getting shot at in a school campus. Having one officer probably wouldn't be a bad thing, and they probably wouldn't mind. Just eat some donuts, watch the monitors, and kick it.

What i think we should do is give the police officer that stays at the school tactical gear if someone comes into the school with a ak 47 it would just tear the school police offer up so i say let his police car be very close to the school and inside have tactical gear and a ar 15 assault weapon i also like the idea of having bulletproof glass and buzzers
