What is a legit rep?

Seems people are neg repping this member, saying I dislike this user. And it gets removed. Isn't that valid and the members opinion about that person?

Well in my opinion most people on FK do put invalid rep on people's profiles and get away with it half of the time, the following rep's are currently on profiles.

The first one is actually invalid, he was abusing the rep system and neg repping a lot of people randomly for no reason. Although, I didn't expect you to know that.

His neg rep is still on my profile, I just haven't bothered to get it removed.

How is the first one even valid? all it says is "I do not like this member" how is that a valid reason just because you don't like them does not mean you can just neg rep them, its just like me neg rep you 10 saying "i don't like this user because he is LF staff" that would be just as bad as the first example.

The second one is Invalid without a doubt, and the third one for me is 50/50 i don't know what to make of it i just used that as an example because its hard to find a valid neg rep reason on FK

Rep, in all honesty, doesn't really mean anything though. It's more or less a gauge of how well liked a user is, if people don't like you; you're going to have bad rep.

If you negative rep a staff member or someone who donates a lot, from what I've seen it's going to get removed. If they don't donate much it's probably going to stay unless it's clearly rep abuse.

That's not how it works. It depends on the reason the user gives you in the reputation system.

Valid rep: "You're low quality and spam the board, I do not like you."

Invalid rep: "I like chicken"

The first one is invalid, the guy not only
rep abused but the account was hacked and the hacker was negging everyone. The account belonged to my dear friend Squilifier.

This kinda happened to me but it got fixed after I pm'd the member

The only rep that is invalid and that should be removed is flaming, putting personal information, or calling someone a scammer without also putting a link to a scam report.
