During my philosophy course our teacher asked us a simple but rather elaborate question. What is God? I ended up getting 100% on the assignment. For instence I wrote God is. I wrote 2 words and he thought it was genius. How would you explain God?

God is something that only exists in the minds of its believers.

In my opinion, there are infinitely many answers to the question and each answer depends on who you're asking. God is a different deity to every religion, and most members of even the same religions have a different interpretation of their faith and God. For the most part I think God is who people need him to be and they shape him to serve their purposes. As wrong as it is, no one likes to be told they're sinning, but they love to point out the sins of other people. They'll adjust their perception of God to fit into their lifestyle, giving God limitless identities.

God is perceived as a divine entity that created the universe and everything it consists of. Which just so happens to be called "bullshit."

A God would be an all powerful being. That we could never understand. Like when Colton said "is it all true". I believe we are all gods in our own ways.

He is the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. "He is" was a brilliant response in my opinion, because you cannot summarize everything that God is in mere words.

We are all one. We are the universe, and the universe is us. Consciousness is the temporary experience we refer to as "life." There may be a creator, but whatever it is, is not to be worshipped. There is no god by traditional definition. Divine intervention does not exist. I cannot stress enough the difference between believing in a creator or an origin, and adopting the belief and/or religion of a god or gods. Here lies the difference between a rational idea and a mental disorder/disease.

God is fraud. Dictator, fearmonger, mass-murder, adversity enabler. I refuse to worship a monster.

Woah, hold up. Let's be clear; evil is the ABSENCE of God, not the doing of God. The Devil exists as well.

We are God. He is a person created by us for us.

The Devil is another cop out, like God, for the unexplainable flaws leftover from the God hypothesis.

I never used it as a cop out. God has a plan that only He understands. We may think it's cruel, but we don't get His reasoning.
So what's your cop out for the inexplicable events that occur in the world? Perpetual human error and random flukes?

I'm am not religious what so ever.

Don't know if this is related to your question but i'd like to put this out there because christians are always going on about their religion.

My very christian football coach once gave a talk about wanting us to understand god. understand that he is our creator and or superior or something. He then said "It's impossible to be an atheist because to be an atheist you're saying that there is no god, that god doesn't exist. To say this means you must know everything, you must be more than god yourself to say this. So you can't be atheist." and he before/after he said this he was going on about how god is real, god is our creator and our maker; that we need to understand him as being our superior. But to say that, and to go on about how god is real, wouldn't he just be contradicting what he said about atheists? wouldn't he himself need to know everything to know that god is infact real?

You indeed did. You're using an unfalsifiable concept to assert your already unfalsifiable beliefs. You just did it again using the "God works in mysterious ways." cop out.

I don't have a cop out? I suggest you look up the definition of cop out.

Atheism isn't the belief there is no god. It's the lack of belief in a god, the rejection of a god. It's not an absolute belief like Christianity.

I personally think God is real, and he created us, but then he just left the house, and he is gone. Therefore we have the 7 deadly sins and sinning and everything else. It's like a child who made a doll house, and just left it to do its own thing.

God is the concept created by humans who couldn't face their mistakes and the mistakes of the world. So they created a being that they can blame it all on. Humans are weak being, they need something to believe in, blame or work towards and some find that in religion, others find it other places.
