what is night mare?

hey guys, i have heard the word night mare somewhere. it is generally heard in the ghost films. do you know what night mare is? And how is it related with ghost stories and films. please make me clear.

Nightmare is a dream which can be scaring or upsetting. It doesn't usually have to be about ghosts though. A bad dream or a dream of something very unpleasant is a nightmare.

Nightmare means a very unpleasant and frightening experience. If we view ghost films, at times we can get scared and frightened.

oh nightmare is just a dream. i thought it is a kind of ghost or a boggy man. Thanks for your supplements. i really didn't know about night mare.

to relate with ghost in a film they just made it exaggerated...

Well I think if we just watch a Film which is full of horror and Ghost types film then we feel that some body is across or near us and we get scared and the same happens in our Dream too so i think it is known as nightmare

nightmare is a form of dream in which you get scared of something.or any kind of dream that make you uncomfortable.it might be somebody chasing you in the darkness,or you getting drowned in water,or somebody stabbing you to death or any such thing that makes you uneasy.
