I am from the Philippines and our official language is Filipino but my mother tongue is Tagalog which is the basic of Filipino language. I love it and proud of it. Using it as medium for my writing gives me the opportunity to live decently.

I am also from the Philippines. I know 2 languages and 1 dialect. Tagalog our mother language, English, our second language, and Ilonggo, my native language. Ilonggo is the dialect from Iloilo, a place in the Visayas region. Our country has different regions and each one has its own dialect. So when different people meet from different parts of the country, we use Tagalog or English so that we can understand each other.

I am from the Philippines also and my mother Tongue is " Filipino". Many people it as Tagalog but the right term is "Filipino". That's our mother as general here in the Philippines though we uses other dialects every day other than Filipino. We only uses Filipino language in school and with interacting other people here in my country who spoke different dialects as well. I spoke 3 different languages or local Philippine dialects such as Ilonggo (dialect in Iloilo), Antiqueno (Antique), and Cebuano or Bisaya (Cebu and Davao).

I was born and live in the USA but my parents were Chinese people born in Vietnam.

They never spoke to me in Vietnamese becausethey said it's a waste of time since it's a corrupt country. So instead I grew up speaking Cantonese (I forgot nearly all my Cantonese though)
