What methods you follow to get projects in Freelancer?

I know there are some successful freelancers hidden in this forum! This post is dedicated to them. I want to know what methods/secrets you use/follow to win a project in Freelancer.com, Elance.com, Odesk.com or others?

Fiverr is my go to most of the time, $5 to spend a couple minutes checking over and fixing up HTML isn't a bad gig


As I've never tried these sites, I can't really give too much assistance, but its all about marketing. Not only is it important to present yourself with professionalism, but also to promote your product though more than one medium. Sure, offering your service on a Freelance web site may be a good start, but tweeting, making posts on Facebook, or any other social medium that you use to represent whatever you do is incredibly beneficial. If you have the resources, get yourself a website, there are plenty of free tutorials that will get you started if you don't know how, or don't want to pay to have a website made.
